Banquet Server (Part time)

Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier is a unique, boutique style property at the foot of Lonsdale, near the Lonsdale Quay. We are looking for Banquet Server, as an ambassador for the Hotel and must be a multi-functional individual with an attention for the finer details.

Duties

  • Provide excellent guest service in F&B functions and meeting events
  • Set up and tear down
  • Help maintain clean and organized workplace
  • Be health and safety conscious and involved in maintaining a safe work environment
  • Complies with Pinnacle Hotel policies and code of ethics

Job Requirements:

  • Serving It Right Certificate
  • Previous experience as Banquet Server
  • Must be well self-motivated, responsible and well organized
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including: weekends and holidays and irregular hours
  • Have excellent communication and guest service skills
  • Possesses an eye for the smallest details
  • Maintains a flexible schedule to accommodate operational needs of a hotel environment

With 8000 square feet of banquet space, the Banquet Captain will serve as an ambassador for the Hotel and be a multi-functional individual who is driven to always exceed our guests’ expectations with an eye for detail. The individual will possess strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude towards their work and their fellow colleagues while handling pressure situations which requires a quick and efficient thinker as these situations occur.

Duties

  • Report to the Banquet Manager
  • Take a leadership role in directing the banquet team to effectively service all banquet activities
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and services standards
  • Ensure consistency and the highest level of service by training and developing staff
  • Act as a liaison with Banquet clients to ensure the proper and smooth operations of all banquet and conference events
  • Assist the Banquet Manager with controlling of costs such as labor and inventory
  • Set up and tear down according to type of event
  • Help maintain clean and organized workplace
  • Be health and safety conscious and involved in maintaining a safe work environment
  • Complies with Pinnacle Hotel policies and code of ethics
  • Other duties as required

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of one year of Banquet captain experience is required

Overnight Guest Service Agent

The Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier (North Vancouver) is a unique, boutique style property, is looking for a Luggage Attendant Agent who must be a multi-functional and guest’s driven to always exceed our guests’ expectation.

Duties

  • Provide courteous, prompt, professional and attentive guest service up to 5 Diamond Standards at all times whilst on the desk
  • Keeping yourself aware of procedural and/or policy changes by reviewing the log book and memo board upon shift arrival; record important and relevant items as required therein
  • Cashiering duties including posting charges, handling an individual cash float, debit, credit cards and billing settlements rectifying any/all outages and/or shortages before the conclusion of your shift
  • Completion in detail of all duties assigned on the Night Audit’s Checklist, with regards to all the negative postings, checking complimentary rooms, room rates and nightly flash report
  • Be aware of emergency procedures over the night with a minimum level of staffing
  • Answer and direct the multi-line telephone console calls in a professional and consistent manner responding to any inquiries
  • Addressing and resolving guest concerns in a timely manner escalating issues to the Guest Services Manager when you are unable to resolve. Communicate these situations to the operation team so they are aware of the situation
  • Assist the front desk with reservations, phone calls, check-ins and departures when the need arises
  • Conduct night security patrols and ensure they are being conducted on a regular basis
  • Assist guest with luggage when necessary
  • Complete all duties in an expedient fashion as assigned by the Guest Services Manager or Hotel Management

Job Requirements:

  • Self motivated, responsible, organized and task oriented
  • Fluent in English. Proficiency of a second language would be an asset
  • Ability to work flexible hours when called upon to do so
  • Minimum one year working in a hotel environment in a hospitality related industry in a front office type position
  • Experience with Maestro PMS is preferred but, not necessary
  • College education in hospitality is preferred

  • Must be able to stand or sit for an 8 hour shift
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Duties

  • Supervise and work with staff in all areas of the hotel including guest room, restaurant, bar and lounge
  • Schedule food and beverage staff
  • Ensure hotel guests and customer’s expectation and satisfaction are met
  • Resolve hotel guests and customer complaints, as well as internal conflict amongst staff
  • Participate in the recruitment, selection, and training of staff
  • Order and maintain inventory control costs
  • All administration duties are maintained
  • Other duties as required

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of one year supervisory experience in a Hotel/Restaurant or related professional area
  • Must be well self-motivated, responsible, organized, eye for details and have excellent communication and writing skills
  • Must have a passion for delivering outstanding guest services
