BANQUET SERVER (Part Time)

General

The Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier is a unique, luxury boutique style property, Banquet Server will serve as an ambassador for the Hotel and must be a multi-functional individual with an attention to the finer details.

Duties

  • Provide excellent guest service in F&B functions and meeting events
  • Set up and tear down
  • Help maintain clean and organized workplace
  • Be health and safety conscious and involved in maintaining a safe work environment
  • Complies with Pinnacle Hotel policies and code of ethics.

Job Requirements:

  • Serving It Right Certificate
  • Previous experience as Banquet Server
  • Must be well self motivated, responsible and well organized
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including: weekends and holidays and irregular hours
  • Have excellent communication and guest service skills
  • Possesses an eye for the smallest details
  • Maintains a flexible schedule to accommodate operational needs of a hotel environment

Physical Demands:

  • Lifting – under 30 lbs
  • Carrying – over 30 lbs
  • Pulling – over 30 lbs – bending, standing, reaching and kneeling.

Part Time Position

Banquet Captain

General The Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier is a unique boutique style property. With equipped 8000 square feet of banquet facility the Banquet Captain will serve as an ambassador for the Hotel and be a multi-functional individual who is driven to always exceed our guests’ expectations with an attention for detail. The individual possesses strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude towards their work and their fellow colleagues while handling pressure situations which require a quick and efficient thinker as they occur.

Duties

  • Report to the Banquet Manager
  • Take a leadership role in directing the banquet team to effectively service all banquet activities
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and services standards.
  • Ensure consistency and the highest level of service by training and developing staff,
  • Act as a liaison with Banquet clients to ensure the proper and smooth operations of all banquet and conference events.
  • Set up and tear down according to type of event.
  • Help maintain clean and organized workplace.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of one year of Banquet captain experience is required
  • Serving It Right and Food safe Certification
  • Must have the ability to supervise, teach, train and motivate Banquet associates
  • Must be well self motivated, responsible and organized.
  • Have excellent communication and guest service skills
  • Possesses an eye for the smallest detail.
  • Maintains a flexible schedule to accommodate operational needs of a hotel environment.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place banquet material. up to 50 pounds.

Full Time Position

Director of Catering and Conference Service

General: Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier is a unique boutique property, 106 guest rooms and equipped 8000 square feet catering / banquet facility located the waterfront of North Vancouver, is seeking at a Director of Catering and Conference Service who will serve as an ambassador for the Hotel. The individual must be a multi-functional individual who is driven to always exceed our residents & guests’ expectations with an attention for detail.

Duties

  • Actively solicit new business to meet/exceed revenue goals through proactive selling which includes networking, sales calls and telephone solicitation
  • Direct and oversee Catering team to maximize group revenue opportunities
  • Ensure efficient execution of group reservations, programs and Functions
  • Work as partnership with Sales team to executive the group business
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients
  • Develop menus for catering kit and customizes as necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of three (3) years Catering management experience in full service hotel property
  • One (1) year Banquet management experience an asset
  • Degree/Diploma in Hotel or Hospitality management an asset
  • Proven track record as a successful Catering professional
  • Knowledge of corporate and local business marketplace
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Able to focus and guide others in accomplishing work objectives
  • Able to build a cohesive team and positive working relations with others
  • Able to establish course of action for self and others and ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner
