BANQUET SERVER (Part Time)

General

Given the nature of the Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier as a unique, luxury boutique style property, Banquet Server will serve as an ambassador for the Hotel and must be a multi-functional individual with an attention to the finer details.

Duties

  • Provide excellent guest service in F&B functions and meeting events
  • Set up and tear down
  • Help maintain clean and organized workplace
  • Be health and safety conscious and involved in maintaining a safe work environment
  • Complies with Pinnacle Hotel policies and code of ethics.

Job Requirements:

  • Serving It Right Certificate
  • Previous experience as Banquet Server
  • Must be well self motivated, responsible and well organized
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including: weekends and holidays and irregular hours
  • Have excellent communication and guest service skills
  • Possesses an eye for the smallest details
  • Maintains a flexible schedule to accommodate operational needs of a hotel environment

Physical Demands:

  • Lifting – under 30 lbs
  • Carrying – over 30 lbs
  • Pulling – over 30 lbs – bending, standing, reaching and kneeling.

Part Time Position

Restaurant Hostess / Host (Part Time)

Given the nature of the Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier as a unique, boutique style property, Restaurant Hostess will serve as an ambassador for the Hotel and must be a multi-functional individual with an attention for the finer details.

Duties

  • Be the First contact of guests to the restaurant and/or lounge
  • Provide sincere and caring interaction with guests
  • Answer phones, deal with guests face to face, assist servers and assist with room service orders
  • Control reservations in Open Table and block time slots, ensure proper separation of large parties and follow-up daily on upcoming reservations and
  • Allocate sections to servers fairly based on previous shift sections, private dining room allocation, etc.
  • Manage seating of walk-in guests based on business flow of existing reservations
  • Communicate section, table seating, special requests with servers and kitchen
  • Assist servers in sections as/when required with focus staying on hostess stand
  • Follow the “10-foot rule” strictly as the first welcome to the restaurant & lounge
  • Ensure the restaurant portray a well-run establishment by being tidy, organized and pro-active

Job Requirements:

  • Previous hostess / host experience
  • Proven track record of outstanding customer service
  • Experience with Open Table or similar online restaurant reservations systems
  • Experience in providing customer service over the phone i.e. making reservations, answering questions, provide information and taking room service o
  • Able to work in standing position for extended periods of time
  • Must have Serving it Right / WHMIS Certificate
  • Have to be organized, tidy and disciplined in managing reservations/walk-in guests

Part Time Position

Assistant Restaurant Manager

Given the nature of the Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier as a unique, boutique style property, an Assistant Restaurant Manager will serve as an ambassador for the Hotel and must be a multi-functional individual who is driven to always exceed our residents & guests’ expectations with an attention for detail. The individual possesses strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude towards their work and their fellow colleagues handling extreme pressure situations as they occur. Computer and word processing proficiency are necessary along with decision-making and problem solving skills.

Duties

  • • Supervise and work with staff in all areas of the hotel including guest room, restaurant, bar and lounge
  • • Schedule food and beverage staff
  • • Ensure hotel guests and customer’s expectation and satisfaction are met
  • • Resolve hotel guests and customer complaints, as well as internal conflict amongst staff
  • • Participate in the recruitment, selection, and training of staff
  • • Order and maintain inventory control costs
  • • All administration duties are maintained
  • • Other duties as required

Job Requirements:

  • • Minimum of one year supervisory experience in a Hotel/Restaurant or related professional area
  • • Must be well self-motivated, responsible, organized, eye for details and have excellent communication and writing skills
  • • Must have a passion for delivering outstanding guest services
  • • Ability to work flexible hours when called upon to do so.
  • • Familiar with Point Of Sale (POS) computer terminals and good computer skills
  • • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations
  • • FOODSAFE, WHMIS & Serving It Right
  • • Good wine knowledge is required
  • • Knowledge of the products, services, sector, industry and local area

Full Time Position

Guest Service Agent

General Given the nature of the Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier as a unique, boutique style property, a Guest Service Agent must be a multi-functional individual who is driven to always exceed our guests’ expectations with an attention for detail. The individual possesses strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude towards their work and their fellow colleagues handling extreme pressure situations as they occur. Computer and word processing are necessary along with decision-making and problem solving skills.

Duties

  • Provide courteous, prompt, professional and attentive guest service up to 5 Diamond Standards at all times whilst on the desk developing a personal
  • Keeping yourself aware of procedural and/or policy changes by reviewing the log book and memo board upon shift arrival; record important and relevan
  • Cashiering duties including posting charges, handling an individual cash float, debit, credit cards and billing settlements at the end of your shift
  • Answer and direct the multi-line telephone console calls in a professional and consistent manner responding to any inquiries and/or reservation book
  • Responsible for the registration of arriving guests and checking out departing guests.
  • Check for, review and input any reservations received on the fax machine and over the telephone during your shift
  • Take delivery of any packages and/or mail received at the Front Desk for in house and arriving guests or other departments as required arranging for
  • Must possess fluent knowledge of the city and geography, keeping abreast of arts & entertainment and local trends, restaurants & tourist attractions
  • Complete all duties in an expedient fashion as assigned by the Guest Services Manager & Executive Team.

Job Requirements:

  • Self motivated, responsible, organized and task oriented.
  • Fluent in English. Proficiency of a second language would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including holidays, weekends and overnights.
  • 1 - 2 years working in a hospitality related industry in a front office type position.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must have a passion for delivering outstanding guest services.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of the local area and must be able to provide valid and relevant directions, recommendations to enable successful fulf
  • Experience with Maestro PMS is preferred but, not necessary.
  • College education in hospitality is preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds & assist guest luggage
  • Must be able to stand or sit for an 8 hour shift
